Group Programs

Small, term-based groups where children practise skills with other kids — which is, after all, where most of those skills get used.

Some skills only make sense with other kids in the room

You can practise taking turns with an adult. It isn’t the same. Groups give children a place to try social and practical skills with actual peers, with enough support that it goes well and enough freedom that it’s real.

Groups run in term-based blocks, kept deliberately small.

Current programs

School Readiness Group

Ages 4–5 · 8-week block · Term 1

For children starting school next year. Sitting and listening, managing a bag and a lunchbox, scissors and pencil skills, following instructions in a group, and coping with the social traffic of a classroom.

Fine Motor Fun

Ages 5–8 · 6-week block

Hands-on work on the small-muscle skills that school leans on hardest — pencil control, scissors, cutlery, and the strength and endurance underneath all of it.

Social Play Group

Ages 6–10 · 8-week block

Play, games and shared projects for children building friendship skills — joining in, negotiating, handling losing, and recovering when something goes wrong.

How groups work

Before a first block, we’ll have a short conversation or session to make sure the group is a good fit — for your child, and for the group. Getting the mix right is most of what makes a group work.

You’ll get a short summary at the end of each block covering what your child worked on and what to keep practising at home.

Groups aren’t right for everyone

Some children need individual therapy first, and some do better one-to-one indefinitely. If a group isn’t the right call, we’ll say so rather than take the enrolment. A group that overwhelms a child costs more than the fee.

Funding

Group programs are claimable under self-managed and plan-managed NDIS plans, and are available privately. We are not an NDIS-registered provider, so agency-managed funding cannot be used with us. Group rates are lower per session than individual therapy — see Fees & Funding.
